Short Term Rental Text Amendment Staff Report
The Keweenaw County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on October 5, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Keweenaw County Courthouse to consider a proposed text amendment to the Keweenaw County Zoning Ordinance concerning Short-Term Rentals (STRs).
The Staff Report for the proposed amendment is now available for public review. The report provides background on the proposed changes, discusses the County’s existing STR permitting process, and evaluates the proposal under the applicable text amendment criteria of the Zoning Ordinance.
The Staff Report is provided to assist the Planning Commission and the public in reviewing and understanding the proposal. No final decision has been made. Public comments are encouraged and will be considered as part of the public hearing and review process.
