In addition, the Clerk's Office processes applications for:
- Concealed Pistol Permits

Other Responsibilities
The County Clerk administers all election functions required by law. The Clerk is responsible for training the local clerks and election inspectors.
The County Clerk serves as the clerk for the Board of Commissioners, Board of Canvassers and the Jury Board.
The County Clerk's Office processes all payroll and human resource functions as well as all accounts payable.

The Register of Deeds is the official recording office for all land records in Keweenaw County.
Records
The office is responsible for recording the following:
- Deeds
- Mortgages
- Satisfactions/Discharges
- Assignments
- Tax Liens
- UCC/Financing Statements
Public Records: All records are available to the public except for Real Estate Transfer Tax Valuation Affidavits which are not public record. Our computer images begin in October of 2010 and we will be adding historic images soon.
