Water System Update

All OK, no updates from DEQ or Bill Griffin (UPEA) to date regarding wells.
Need to start looking at new well funding - estimated 60k.
Too small for grants
No new tax bond until present bonds paid off

Recommend revenue bond - need to calculate amount depending on length of bond - 40 years? 10 years?

Also noted that National Water Loan association via the Michigan Rural Loan Association have loans - need to contact John at MRLA

Average water (not sewer) bill in UP is $75 /month

Need to target Depreciation costs for rate changes, also show all options, including cost of abandoning system and going to individual wells. Need analysis including maintenance funding, depreciation, pumps costs, new well and possible new solutions.

Sewer System Update

21 out of 55 users returned surveys
11 no sump pump
10 yes sump pump
2 dump into old sewer

Water level is a bit higher, but believe we have reduced solids pumping costs by better measurements and understanding of solids level

Tony Burcar to put together maintenance proposal for drain field

Odor problem believed solved
